All month first date display options are the same?

Post by laurennial »

I was looking at the date display format because I prefer having a leading zero so that everything lines up properly, but I think all of the options that start with month are the same? Am I crazy? They all say MM/dd/yyyy h:n:s AM/PM. There's four of them. The other formats even have dashes and period separators as options. I'm looking for a mm/dd/yyyy hh:nn:ss AM/PM option.

I suppose they could be labeled wrong, but it's a little difficult to test, even though it gives you an example when you click it because it doesn't always show a leading zero, or where a leading zero would be.

---------

Okay, I updated to the latest version (4.5.70) and now it's even weirder? day first has seven options and month or year first has one option each.

Is there no way to get it to show me dates as mm/dd/yyyy hh:nn:ss AM/PM?

Thanks for any insight.

Where are you seeing that dropdown? In File Manager?
Are you sure you're in the right board/forum?
Oh. Heh. Options, on the main screen.

In any case, wouldn't:
MM-DD-YYYY HH-NN-SS AMPM

do it?

And wouldn't / be illegal in the filename?
(I guess you can ignore that too, & go with below: ;-).)

MM/DD/YYYY HH:NN:SS AMPM

You can simply enter above into the 'Options | File Date Display Format:' dialog box
- even though it is not specifically shown (in the dropdown), & you should get your expected date display.

...I admit I had no idea I could enter a custom format there. completely missed the cursor in the box.

Thank you very much, you've saved me some future brain ache from not having the dates line up (I have dyscalculia so anything that makes parsing numbers a little easier is a huge help).

Thank you, it was a very simple fix but I appreciate that you took the time to answer!
