Re: Search result colors
On the "main screen", Options -> User Interface, if you select Custom, you can set colors for various search result items.

Re: Support for Blake2 or Blake3
Well, Blake3 of course [over 2]. That said, xxHash is (well) faster yet again. And given that (as far as I'm concerned) there is no need for a duplicate file checker to use a crypto hash (& in particular in that the hash data is only used "internally"), there is no reason to not use (I...

Re: BUG: Multiple AllDup Background Processes Running
Certainly not an expected behavior & certainly not typical. Open AD. Quit. Task hang? Open AD. Run a scan. Quit. Task Hang? See if you can come up with a repeatable situation where Quitting hangs? And if so, particular settings you are using? Or even now, particular settings you are apt to use m...

Re: Search Method checkboxes may be lost
Comparision, bHash -> Match 93%
- switch to MD5 (& with that Match is set to 100% [as expected])
Switch back to bHash.
At this point, bHash -> Match is 100% (rather then the previously set, 93%).
(4.5.48, I've not looked at .50 yet.)
edit: (.50 behaves the same)

Re: Critical Error: ALLdup Crash
Do you know if the search had completed before it disappeared?
What search parameters are you using?
Are you searching file meta-data, like exif data? If so, it might be coming across something it is not liking, & aborting?

Re: AllDup Window Missing
So AllDup is ending up in your System Tray?
If so, maybe for some reason, the setting for AllDup had gotten set to Off?

Re: Finding similar photos in separate folders
Are A & B in the same directory tree? /pics/A /pics/B /pics/B/1/ /pics/B/2/ /pics/B/3/ If that's the case, simply move A outside of /pics/ [temporarily] then it should work (with Compare only files between different source folders). move /pics/A /outside/A With that, you'll then have: /outside/A...

For finding files, there is nothing better then Everything . Assuming you're wanting to find , enter that as a search term. And if you want .lnk files, search for, ext:lnk, should do it. Most likely, this is a Win7 bug, when "aero" is disabled: Windows 7 and the old AltTabSettings=1 setting.

Re: Feature Request: Renaming all files in a group to one common name
Everything - Renaming 4000 files to the same name.png I selected ~4000 files, in the same directory. (In this case, I loaded the directory, directly, rather then pasting 4000 file names in [which would take MUCH longer to do].) Selected all the files, & in the rename dialog, set the wanted file...

Re: Feature Request: Renaming all files in a group to one common name
Alternatively, a file renamer. It would be a multi-step process... Select a set of files from within AllDup. (You can assign a hotkey to copy the file names to clipboard.) Paste said names into a file renamer - that is assuming a file renamer allows you to paste a diverse set of file names into it. ...

Re: Feature Request: Renaming all files in a group to one common name
File Manager, allows you to 'Rename files'. Experiment with that (safely) & see what that might be able to do? IOW, if you deselect (if necessary) 'Do not process groups with all files selected', 'Rename files' -> allthesamename.%2, then all your same files should be named allthesamename.ext. I'...
