I am backing up to an external drive that does NOT always have the same drive letter. Allsync help say: "You can use the variable %driveletter:drivename% in the path of a folder when using external storage devices (e.g. USB drives) with changing drive letters. AllSync checks all drives present for the drive name specified. When a match is detected the drive found is used for the copy operation. The drive name may contain the wildcards * and ?.
Examples: "%F:Backup%\Userdata", "%X:Backup HD No.?%\Userdata"
Can you provide more details. I can't get this to work when I define the drive as:
"%J:Ext015%\Backup"
where the volume name of the external drive is "Ext015" and I want to backup to directory \Backup. Does it matter if I use J or some other letter?
Thanks. SCott

Re: External drive letter
The syntax of your variable is correct and should work."%J:Ext015%\Backup"
where the volume name of the external drive is "Ext015" and I want to backup to directory \Backup.
What error message do you get?
No.Does it matter if I use J or some other letter?
