Question: can I use this tool in the following way... I want to have the concept of a master repository for pictures, and check another location of new pictures to see if any of the new pictures already exists in the master repository.

For example, I have a disk with all of my pictures. It might even have some dupes that I can find and manage using AllDup. But want I would like to do as well as take an additional external drive (I have dozens of them) that has pictures on it, and check it against my master repository. The output should either tell me which of the pictures already exist in my master repository and which don't. Or, it should move the pictures into 2 or 3 other folders while preserving the folder structure (matches, non matches, and possible matches in case AllDup is uncertain).

Is this possible with AllDup? Or, perhaps something close?

Use the source folder option "Compare only files between different source folders". This will show you all dups that exist in your master repository and your external HD.
