AllSync & AllDup

Good morning all,

Is it possible to set a master reference file, an image in this case and have Alldup skip this master file in searches ?
I have many animations where the beginning and last frame are identical but i require only the frames in between these to be searched.

I feel this could be a very useful feature!

You will need 2 source folders for this.

Example:

1. Source folder: "C:\!Master"
2. Source folder: your folder with the images

Copy your master image into the folder "C:\!Master".
Activate the folder option "Compare only files between different source folders".

This settings will compare the master image with all images inside the 2. source folder.

Hi, AllDup returned an error "The source folder "C:\!Master" couldn't be found".

Does the "!" operator tell AllDup to skip the content of the folder? This would be a very useful feature to cut down the amount of false negatives.

No... as far as I know, this is not the case.

Admin was simply showing an example, not literal file paths.

1. Place your "target" file in a folder by itself. It should be lonely, with no other files or sub-folders.
2. Place all "files to be searched" into another folder (sub-folders within that folder are allowed)
3. Use the option "Compare only files between different source folders".

This will compare all files in step 2 to the single file in step 1.
