AllDup Portable 4.0.40 does not work on XP SP3

AllDup Portable 4.0.40 does not work on XP SP3 - twice.

If I then delete, config4.ini, I can once again open AllDup - once.

(I do have an X: drive [a drive with the drive letter, 'X:', that is on the fritz. Show up some times, other times not, but thinking that is not material here?)

Now in Win7 x64, the "directory tree" (or whatever that is supposed to be in my 1st screenshot, above) looks the same (& is ineffectual?) on this end too.

I can reproduce this graphical issue when i change the windows theme to Classic.
Should i send you a new update to check if the problem still exists?

I tried 4.0.40 .exe installer...

Only difference I'm seeing is that it registers, FEShlExt.dll (& has stuff like unins*, *.url...).
(Oh, & so AllDup==AllDupPortable, so what, what makes one or the other is only the name used to run it.)

Copied the .41 parts in, renamed to AllDup.exe.

With that, I opened successfully 4 times in succession (open, close, open, close...), but crash on the 5th attempt?

T2= & T8= were originally in config4.ini [& had no values, as it was], but somewhere along the line, those lines went missing altogether (as config4.ini updated over open, close, sessions).

T2 (G:) & T8 (Z:) are both mapped drives.
G: actually mapping to (local) C:, & Z: mapping to a networked computer.

Another thought, I added the \ to the drive letter names, & with that, things now seem to work .
