Shortcut manager not running chained profiles

Post by mtn_roadie »

Hi Michael,

Win2k Professional
AllSync 2.5.1 - Business Edition

After a few months of using the shortcut manager to run 4 chained profiles and then shut down my computer, I just realized that AllSync is *not* running the chained profiles.

I ran a copy preview yesterday and everything worked fine. I even recreated the shortcuts with the latest build of AllSync. However, when I run the actual shortcut, AllSync still only runs the first profile, ignores the chained profiles and then shuts the system down.

I've reviewed the logs and this had been going on for quite some time now... the data I thought was being backed up is simply being ignored :(

Here's the shortcut:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files\AllSync\AllSync.exe" -x -s "essentials - alpha\my docs"
Please tell me I'm missing something painfully obvious :)

I cannot find any problems. profile chaining works fine via command line. maybe you have forgotten to activate the option "Command Line"?

Please explain how I activate the command line option.

When I run the Profile from directly within AllSync everything functions. When I use the shortcut manager to run the same profile and exit windows when it's done, none of the chained profiles function. I've tested this several time and the same thing occurs.

What other information can I provide to correct this problem?

Please check the Profile Properties "Profile Chaining" for this option.
