Incautious idiot pleas for help re: duplicate folders

Hello. This is my first time here although it's not in ideal circumstances. I've never heard of Michael Thummerer before but it looks a gem of a company. Free support for a free product is very generous.

Some fool (I know him intimately) has realised that an error has lead to duplicate folders being generated on his system. Indeed there are duplicates within duplicates. And there may be more. Normally I'd work this out myself, but it's lead to other issues that need sorting first - will AllDup locate duplicate folders? I have a horrible feeling it does absolutely everyone else but. If I'm right, throw a drowning man a line. Please could someone recommend a product that does.?

Sorry, AllDup cant detect duplicate folders.

If the folders have files in would it be possible to work round this by doing a normal search, selecting all the files in the duplicate folders, then in the deletion dialogue check "delete empty folders"?

Think about what happens, if the folders are NOT exakt duplicates.
e.g.
Folder A contains folder B and C
Folder D contains folder B which contains Folder C
both folders C have the same content.

Even though the folders are not duplicate, A or D would be removed with this strategy.

This is just a simple example for illustration purposes.
