Different totals for drive C showing on main screen

I just downloaded this software and I'm seeing drive C under the "DRIVES" column showing a total of 288.04 GB and 282.17 used. Yet when I scan drive C and I look at the results under the FOLDERS section on the left I see a total of only 77.57 GB. Why isn't this total amount showing the same total - 282.17 - as under the DRIVES section? I'm trying to figure out why my hard drive is full all of a sudden.

What windows version is installed at drive C: ?

It looks like some system folders are not accessable for the GetFolderSize user. Try running GetFoldersize with an Admin account with full system folder access.

I ended up having to re-install my operating system. I was told that the hard drive was not being read properly by the computer. Everything looks fine now. Thanks for your help!
