I added this to our ToDo-List.
More generally, you might say, a 'Select by Text Pattern', differentiating between Name or Path.
Is "Select files by name" and "Select files by path" not understandable?

(At least I believe that's the case.)

Duration does stop when Paused.
But, & possibly related to a pause that extended past midnight ?, when restarted (un-Paused), Duration was off, significantly.

Thinking its likely its 24 hour off, plus/or minus the time of the scan length prior to midnight?

03/07/2016 11:36:44 AM - Scan: X:\out
And currently it is, 02:49 PM 03/08/2016, with Duration showing as 27:29:49.
(Scan paused, probably ~5:PM on the 7th, then restarted ~10:AM on the 8th.)
The scan duration will be determined between the time&date of the scan start and the current time&date.
The difference in seconds will be calculated and formatted to "hh:mm:ss".
And yes, using "Pause" also stops the refresh of the progress info.

Oddity.

Search Criteria

Search Criteria, enable:
Name
Size
Content
(Size & Content not really necessary, I just happened to have them enabled.)

File Name, enable:
Ignore specific characters from the file name

Now go back & set:
File last modified date (or probably any other selection or deselection)

Result:
Ignore specific characters from the file name is disabled.

I would think it should only change if 'File name' were deselected.
IOW, once 'Ignore specific characters from the file name' is enabled, making other Search Criteria changes, disables it.

Will be fixed with the next update!

Some time ago I had run into an issue with Alldup seemingly aborting prior to the scan (itself) having actually completed in full.
(The intermediate results were shown & all worked, only not all files actually scanned.)

General idea is that it was a huge scan, many thousands of files, & at some point, Alldup "finished", when in fact it really hadn't...

I've got notes, but I'll have to organize them a bit [perhaps I can get to that Monday?], or maybe I'll just email you my writings [ramblings ;-)].

In 3.9.21 there seems to be a problem with loading profiles... the settings in profiles do not seem to be set when loading from the GUI or the command line (with -p)

I cant reproduce this problem here with v3.9.21.
Do you get the message "Profile was loaded successfully." after doubleclicking on a profile at the list?
Whats the name of your profile?

I do see "Profile was loaded successfully." after double-clicking or right-clicking and loading but no settings from the profile are set in search criteria or search options... this is with the portable version in case that makes a difference...

I have profiles named normal, content-byte-by-byte

Another related issue I noticed today is that the search criteria options are not saved to the config4.ini file... only file name and file extension stay checked when I exit and restart AllDup

I could reproduce the problem now if i use the search criteria "File content".
Update with a fix will be released today.

Thanks. 3.9.22 fixes the problems I mentioned yesterday with loading profiles and saving search criteria. I noticed is that I do not get the confirmation dialog when loading a profile but the settings are loaded so that is fine with me.

The message box was removed because if a profile was loaded succesfully the name of the profile will be shown at the title of the window.

I am unsure if I am just missing where the option has moved to but there used to be a way to tell alldup to only look at files from one folder and compare them to another root folder. is this feature removed?
