I'm having a problem updating AllDup 4.4.40 to 4.4.47
It asks to shutdown "explorer" to complete the installation. If I let it shutdown explore, things go bad. After aborting the update and restarting explorer, things get worse. After shutting down/rebooting all is fine and 4.4.40 still works. I've tried updating again and the same problem occurs.
I just updated windows to windows 10 20H2 yesterday so this can be a factor in the problem but 4.4.40 is still functioning.
Any solutions will be appreciated. In the meantime I will continue using 4.4.40.

Re: Update to 4.4.47 Is Failing in Windows 10 20H2
afaik "shutdown windows explorer" is optional.
Just install AllDup without closing the windows explorer.
At the end of the installation you have to restart the computer.

Thanks.
Ignoring the warning and not shutting down windows explorer worked. Of the 3 computers I installed it on, the one with WIN10-20H2 is the only one that displayed the warning.
