File (Picture) Preview: .jpeg do not preview

I'm looking at that (having never done so before) & it is not previewing ".jpeg".
".jpg" are fine, but it only returns - unknown file type - for .jpeg.

Is AllDup missing an association or is it something on the Windows end?

Win7 x64
AllDup 4.0.10 PE

Oh that's weird.
That only happens when clicking on a individual .jpeg file.
If you click on "combined" picture line (where the number of duplicates are shown), both .jpg & .jpeg thumbnails do display.

Well I hadn't selected any File Filter entries at all.
And had I done so, *.jpg|*.jpeg are the defaults in any case.

In this case, I took a single original, which was the .png & copied it to ".jpg" & to ".jpeg".

Combined: shows thumbs for all the images, regardless of whether the file extension is correctly "named" or not.
-- .jpeg: shows '- Unknown file type -'
--- .jpg: shows as a "broken" thumbnail
--- .png: shows as expected

So I'll take it that you're using different methods to determine/display combined vs. individual.
And that for individual, you are relying on the file extension (rather then checking the file header or something like that) & based on that, loading a particular code to display the image for that type of extension. And if that's what you're doing, I'm OK with that, with the .jpg (which is actually a .png - in this case) as showing as "broken", but I would also expect .jpeg to also show as broken rather then as "unknown".

Then I was thinking, maybe it is the file header, that it is not recognizing the because of some difference in there, but that is not the case, it is simply that the file extension is .jpeg vs .jpg.

Take a .jpg, make a copy of it as .jpeg, one will display, the other will not - at least on my end.

Take a .jpg that does display, rename it, from within AllDup, to .jpeg, move away, then back again, you go from displaying the picture to getting an "unknown".

-------

Different "headers", both "JPEG's".

One named as .jpg, one named as .jpeg.
Only one is displayed.

Rename both to .jpg
Both are displayed.

(Right-click, View Image, to see complete image.)
