Re: AllDup 4 - Open Beta Test
Oh, I didn't realize you could "free-form" the shown field. Why do you not change the date time format at the options?
I though all you could do was to select one of the given fields.
OK, that solves it .

Re: AllDup 4 - Open Beta Test
Its done and available with the next update. See attached screenshots.therube wrote:Select Mode icon.
Some method to show when a method other then 'All' has been chosen.
So some sort of differentiation would help to point that out.

3914:
The first time I opened 3914, volume labels displayed for the drive letters.
I removed A: (& G:) from my listing.
Closed AllDup.
On reopen, the drive volume labels no longer display.
Looking back at 3911, they do persist a restart.
Suppose this is a side effect of the change to be able to delete drives from the listing [thank you ].
Not particularly a concern that the labels display or not, just pointing out what did happen.
I guess what is happening is that 3911 reads & displays on each open.
3914 reads once, stores those settings in [Ordnerlist], but does not reread (or store) the volume label for those selected drives.

Multi-select using the keyboard.
Highlight a selection of files
Hit the space-bar
You would expect all selected files to be selected/deselected.
At least I would .
As it is you need to use the context-menu; Select/Unselect marked files, to accomplish the same.

Re: AllDup 4 - Open Beta Test
When the search results display, focus appears to be on the term, "Search Result...", but at that point, you cannot arrow-key or page-down the result list.
You have to first (mouse) click into the results list before cursor keys will move you around.
Presumably focus is actually somewhere other then where it would seem it is, but I'm just not sure where?

"Remove all groups where the files not exist at all source folders" does not accomplish what "Detect only duplicates from different source folders" did.Administrator wrote:Please use the new option:therube wrote:XP, 391Beta Portable
Detect only duplicates from different source folders:
Option is missing?
NEW: Search Result / Menu Bar / Remove: Added "Remove all groups where the files not exist at all source folders".
I think we need another remove command:
Remove all groups with all files in the same folder
some alternate statements...
Remove all groups containing files only in the same folder
Remove all groups with files only in the same folder
Remove all groups where the files do not exist in multiple source folders

Re: AllDup 4 - Open Beta Test
Is the search bar (search backward, search forward) in Search Result working in the current beta (3.9.15)?
using full or partial filenames with or without wilcards does not find anything for me

Yes, it works, but currently only if the option "Unicode Text Support" is disabled. Is the search bar (search backward, search forward) in Search Result working in the current beta (3.9.15)?
Will be fixed with the next update!

Re: AllDup 4 - Open Beta Test
Using the option "Remove all groups where the files not exist at all source folders" shows only groups with duplicates from different source folders at the search result."Remove all groups where the files not exist at all source folders" does not accomplish what "Detect only duplicates from different source folders" did.
Isnt that what u want?

Re: AllDup 4 - Open Beta Test
If you only have two folders the options are equivalent but if you use three or more folders you can have duplicates in some folders but not all of them... "Detect only duplicates from different source folders" keeps these groups but "Remove all groups where the files not exist at all source folders" does not...Administrator wrote:Using the option "Remove all groups where the files not exist at all source folders" shows only groups with duplicates from different source folders at the search result."Remove all groups where the files not exist at all source folders" does not accomplish what "Detect only duplicates from different source folders" did.

I think "Remove all groups where the files not exist at all source folders" is useful but I also think we new a command that gives the same results as "Detect only duplicates from different source folders" like I suggested above.

3.9.18
Just to note, a "scan" cannot be Paused during the file scan (count) process.
(I did not try a Cancel.)
(In the particular case, ~1,000,000 files including 30,000 folders, so the count took ~15:min itself.)
[And this scan & subsequent duplicate check seems to have taken far longer then it should have, IMO.]
