F2 No longer works correctly

In 4.5.72 PE, key F2 no longer works correctly. Although it opens the 'Rename file', the filename is not selected, as it would in a previous version. Now, each time, I have to select the filename manually. Which takes much more time, if you rename (or name copy) a lot of files.
Or is it a setting which can be set? Then I wasn't able to find it.

Preferred is: a setting which let you choose between:
#1: Select the whole filename.
#2: Select only the part in front of the extension.
#3: Select nothing, as in the newest version (although I wouldn't understand that use).
