Hello,
Starting a few days ago, Alldup gives an error message when I launch a file content search: Can't initialize the crypt system provider (for CryptAcquireContext1 and CryptAcquireContext2).
I am running Windows 10 22H2 on a quite old PC and I use the version 4.5.70 of Alldup.
Any ideas what I could check on my system to solve the problem?
Thanks for your help

Re: CrypAcquireContext error message
Apparently, your old hardware doesn't support checksum creation.
Disable the checksum option for content comparison in the options.

Re: CrypAcquireContext error message
So you're thinking it is the Content Comparison method,
or in the Database options, Use database for... File content?

When did you install 4.5.70?
You didn't have any issues with earlier versions & the same settings?

Which comparison method (hash or Byte by Byte) do you have selected?
If you chose a different hash algorithm (or Byte by Byte) do you get the same message?
Other then Content & a Comparison method, any other settings set in Search Method?
On my end, Win7 (so that is old), & on an ancient Win10, no issues with any of the Comparison methods nor with using the Database or not.
(Win7 is as up to date as the last, though long ago, updates MS put out. Win10 has not been updated in ages. It could be a 1809 or some such.)
