Select by date treats every file as newer than now

I'm trying to use the new "Select by Date" feature in version 4.5.58, but using "select older" never selects any files and "select newer" always selects every file. I've tested with "Select newer than 0 seconds" on both creation date and modified date and it always selects all files. No matter what I put in "select older" it never selects anything, so it seems the program thinks all my files were created/modified in the future. I can see the correct created/modified dates in the app for each file. I'm running the app on Windows 10 and my files are in a Linux-based Samba network share. I don't know if the app is mixing up dates because of the different OSes, or if it's swapping day and month since I'm using US date formats in Windows. I'm wondering if the "Select by date" option is working for anyone else

We cant reproduce your problem here. "Select older than..." works fine. AllDup uses the created/modified dates displayed in the search result.

Something weird does look to be going on.

start with all same dated files (say current date)
see if Date, Newer then, 2 days
does not in fact select all files
(when theoretically none should be selected)

likewise, oddities with Older then

now change dates of some of the files

in my case, some are current (1-5-2024), others dated 2028 & others 2000

with that, Date, Older then, 2 days, does correctly select the 2000's
but, Date, Newer then, 2 days, selects both 1-5-2024's & 2028's

I've done some more testing and I can't seem to replicate the issue anymore. I've tried a bunch of scenarios but I don't recall the exact files/folders I was working with before when it was acting up. If I can get it to happen again I'll try to provide more information about the exact use case

Test this data selection (attached).

There are a set of files dated "today" (1-8-2024, as it is, here, now).
(If running on a different day, set those particular files to current date.)

Search by Content
Select by Date, Newer then, 2 days
(sort by Last Modified Date will help you to see what files have been selected)

Those currently dated files ("today") & also the 2028 year files will be selected.
(The former should not be.)
