Compare by similar size and similar timestamp?

Post by allnj2323 »

I love alldup, it is great!
What I am asking I do not believe can be done currently, but consider this a feature request.

It would be nice if we could specify a threshold of timestamps within a specified amount of each other, such as a specific number of days, minutes, or seconds from each other.

Also being able to specify a similar size threshold would be very helpful. A specific number of KB, MB, or GB from each other.

The scenario I'm in is with video files that have been remuxed and renamed. Trying to quickly find their original counterpart with a different name but with timestamps and file sizes close to the original.

You should have a look at Everything 1.5 Alpha.

It searches for file names, but you can filter it, six ways to Sunday.

So if you want a date modified of today, dm:today, if you want a date modified between today & 1 week ago, you can do that too.
If you want a size between 1 GB & 3 GB you can do that, or 1 byte & 100 bytes, you can do that too.

You can also (in the 1.5 version) index "Properties".

So if you want the Length of a movie &/or audio, you can get that too.

And you can combine that all together.

So you can find all files modified within the past week, that are between 500 KB & 1.5 GB in size, & that have a length of 18 to 36 minutes.
