Find and select all photos with checksum errors

Post by gfg »

Is there a way to find and select all photos with checksum errors?

I have this need because after a Nas restore I have thousands of them and it is impossible to select one by one selecting the reported on the log created by the search method\find similar picture.

Thanks for your help

Thank you for the prompt reply.
Maybe in future version the programmers can add this feature since AllDup already finds the photos with checksum errors maybe it won't be difficult to add this option to the Search Method.
Thank you

What is a "checksum error" in a photo?

Is that where AllDup logs something (like) "could not read the final 1800 bytes of xxx.png" ?

Yes, but sometimes I'll catch something like:

Code: Select all

ERROR: Could not find the end of the image data (EOI) at the last 18000 bytes of the file 'T:\+o._e-fat-e-ccc-2\070499\00287.jpg'!
And if that's what he's after...

That can occur with in a Context scan, when Ignore metadata of JPEG/CR2 files is also enabled.
