Grouping Reference Sources

Post by tfern »

Hello,

Apologies if this is already possible, but I personally cannot find a way..

Case:
Sources A and B contain "reference" files for which I would like to identify duplicates of in Y and Z.

Is it possible to configure Alldup to treat A and B as a group, for which comparisons will only be made against Y and Z separately?
In other words, I do not wish to have anything compared between A and B, nor Y vs Z.
The only comparisons are "Y vs (A+B)" and "Z vs (A+B)"

Thanks very much. I love your software btw.

You could manage this by either running two separate searches.
Or I think creating a folder with symlinks to Y and Z and select the parent folder as the reference folder may work.

No, thats not possible with AllDup.

You have to group A & B together and run 2 separated searches against Y and Z.
