The progress screen shows the current number of detected duplicates (and the percentage), but could it also show the size of those files as seen below?

Tooltips Need a Delay
I finally () figured out how to use the File preview function (the command is in the Search Result menu; I guess I was looking for an option in the context-menu when clicking on files). The file preview is wonderful and really helps when weeding out picture files. 8) The problem is that when y...

Hard-Link column setting not remembered
When you turn off the hard-link column in the Search Results window, it does not remember the setting like it does for the other columns. The next time that a Search Results window is opened, the hard-link column is displayed regardless of what was selected.

Ah okay. I did not think to check the window classes; you are right, one is ThunderRT6ListBox and the other is AfxOleControl42. Thanks for pointing that out. It’s too bad that they did not consider the problem. Have they updated the control to fix it? If not, would an alternative control work? It ma...

You can see the problem in the main UI: Make sure that there are enough items in the Source Folder , Folder Filter , and File Filter (and Search Results ) lists to enable the scrollbars Use the mouse-wheel to scroll each of the list controls (without holding Shift) Observe responsiveness You’ll noti...

AllDup says folder overlap even though they don’t
Hi, I just got an error message from AllDup about overlapping source folders even though they don’t overlap. Here’s an example to demonstrate the problem: Include Path Subs [x] C:\Pics\Animals [ ] [x] C:\Pics\Animals\Cats [x] It says C:\Pics\Animals and C:\Pics\Animals\Cats overlap, which is true if...

Clarification For “Delete Empty Folders”
In the File Manager dialog of AllDup’s Results window, there is an option to Delete Empty Folders . What exactly does this do? Presumably it deletes folders that have no files or folders in them, but specifically, what folders does it apply to? Does it remove all folders that are empty or only ones ...

Removing No-Longer-Present Files Removes All Archived Files
Hi, I just tried out the scan-in-archives function and it was pretty handy, but I noticed a problem. In the results window, if you use the remove-no-longer-present-files function, ALL files from archives are removed from the results list. I imagine that would be quite frustrating if you just spent a...

File Filters Still Used Even When Selecting NO in Prompt
Hi, When you start a search, AllDup asks if you want to use the file and folder filters. Selecting Yes, causes both file and folder filters to be active, but selecting no only disables folder filters; file filters are still active and must be turned off in the main interface to not use them for a se...

Request: Folder/Drive Progress Indication During File-count
Hi, Sometimes when a lot of folders (or drives), containing lots of files are selected, the file-counting procedure takes a while. That's fine; there's nothing that can be done about that. What would be nice however is if the progress shown at the bottom which shows the number of files that have bee...

Regression: Pressing Space in Source Folder List Won’t Work
Pressing the Space bar in the Source Folder list in version 2.x of AllDup would enable/disable the selected folder, but it no longer works in 3.x. Now you must use the mouse to toggle a folder which can be really frustrating if there are a bunch of folders.

Mouse-Wheel / Arrow Key Navigation in Results List is Slow
Hi, AllDup's analysis speed is terrific, but navigating the results can excruciatingly slow. Pressing Up/Down takes too long to move to the previous/next item, and scrolling the mouse-wheel scrolls only one line at a time regardless of what it is set to in the system (eg Control Panel->Mouse->Wheel)...
