Re: Feature Request: Show Size With & Without Hardlinks

Do you mean something like an additional column of the size without the hardlinks? Yes, one column shows the size when counting all hard links (i.e. the way that Windows Explorer would show it) and the other when hard links are only counted once. The second column would, of course, only show a size...

Re: Feature request: Database with Checksums

What about using a checksums database to save previous searches?
In this way I can use previous searches, e.g. from a previously connected hard drive, to compare against a current folder/hard drive. Very useful!

Feature Request: Show Size With & Without Hardlinks

I scanned a large directory and used the option to create a report with hardlinks count. Because this option was selected it took a very long time to scan the directory (more than 1 hr). When scan was completed, I wanted to compare the directory size when hardlinks were only counted once. I selected...

Feature request: Database with Checksums

I have been using a similar program, which allows the searches to be saved in a checksum database. Thus I can compare duplicates in a folder versus saved searches. Furthermore, an option is to find duplicates based on checksums. I assume that this would be faster than a byte-by-byte comparison (as i...

Search for duplicates between two directories?

Is it possible to search for duplicates only between two directories; e.g. Dir1 vs Dir 2 but not within each directory?

Re: Feature request: Non-duplicates

I am also very interested in such a feature. The webpage indicates that non-duplicates listing is supported ( http://www.getfoldersize.com/alldup_help/alldup.php ). However, I do not see an option to add this to the log file (the latest version I can find is v3.4.24 (from 2013). When/if this feature...

Re: HardLinks Not Recognized & Dir Size incorrect

Unfortunately, there is no manual or help file for GetFoldersize available. 1. We will added a new dialog to confirm the deletion of a folder with the next update. 2. Thats a very special suggestion, but we will add it to our ToDo list. Has the feature of moving folders to another disk, keeping the...

Re: HardLinks Not Recognized & Dir Size incorrect

Have you activated the options " Count the file size of hard links once only " and " Determine hardlink count "? The options are available at the sub menu of the start scan button. No, I didn't notice this option. I tried it and it and I only needed to check " Count the fil...

HardLinks Not Recognized & Dir Size incorrect

I created a dir0 and placed 2 sub directories in it: Dir1 & Dir2 I placed a text file (11 bytes) in Dir1 and a hard-link to this text file in Dir2 After scanning Dir0, it shows that there is 1 file in each directory, total Dir0 size is 22 bytes and no hard-links are shown. The directory size is ...
